There is a ghost town nearby that we like to visit, named Bodie. During the gold rush the town had a population of 10,000. It is now in "arrested decay" and at some point it will disappear entirely. The buildings are leaning and crumbling in places and usually when we visit the town feels desolate and creepy, but not this time.Once a year there is a fund raiser named "Friends of Bodie Day" and everyone is encouraged to wear costumes. We went last year for the first time and I hope we will get the chance to go again this year. Although we both missed the spooky quiet. Maybe I'll have to go twice this year?
