So far garden

Some snapshots of the garden so far this summer...

Raspberries just started to turn red and this year I am eating more than the birds.

Gorgeous Lupine.
I planted a lot of these purple violas this summer
because they came back so well from last year.

Perky orange Poppies
The Astilbe bloomed beautifully this year
Big dramatic powdery pink poppies. Oh how I love thee

The white Delphiniums are amazing.

Can't get enough orange in the garden.
more happy perky poppies

Holly Hocks and my favorite red Geranium.

The Lilacs bloomed last month...ahh.
Spicy pink Geraniums.

 One last orange Poppy.

Lily House #8

The inspirations for the kitchen design in Lily House are these two photos.
The first one here is a very old kitchen. Notice the tiny pink print wallpaper.
This one is a new kitchen made to look old. Notice the tiny pink print fabric behind the door.
I found this pink floral print at Miniatures.com

Here it is on the wall. Pretty perfect huh?

The beadboard wainscoting I bought turned out to be plastic.
Which really bummed me out, I thought it was wood, but I used it anyway. It worked ok. I may tear it out someday and fix it...or not. I painted it a seafoam color and I am very happy with the end result.
Now we need a floor.

Summer Fun Round-up

We have been having so much fun this summer
and most of it has been computer free so very little blogging has been done.
Such as Camping, these are flowers from our camp table.
We have been taking Rugby camping and she has been an excellent camp dog.

We have been fishing quite a bit.

Lake George...Rugby loves it.

So does my Hubby.

I do too, we haven't fished much as a couple
but I fished with my family while growing up and when my son was small so it makes me nostalgic.

Convict Lake...a friend of mine fell through the ice on this lake one winter and died. He was trying to save someone else who fell through while ice skating...
Rugby doesn't like that story.

More camping trips are in the works as I write this. Til then...

Pinterest in Action #1

 The Pinspiration,

Wind chimes made from old cookie cutters, beads, buttons, keys & spoons
http://www.flickr.com/photos/kentbrew/6851755809/

Pinspiration in action. Oh Yeah!
An old colander and bits of flotsam and jetsam I have been stashing for years.
Buttons, beads and bobbers,

a few silver spoons, a couple tiny baby spoons, an angel, a lure among other treasures,
wired together to make a recycled garden ornament.
I am so pleased with the way this one turned out, all sparkly and colorful.
It kind of looks like a Jellyfish. ;0)
