Too Soon?

I am starting to think I may have started my tomato seeds a bit too soon. This is how big they were on January 21st. This is my first sprout of cabbage. Cute huh?
This is that cabbage today...

and take a look at my tomatoes.
That giant lily pad like leave on the right is a pumpkin plant I have named it Audrey I.
I expect it to say"Feed me Seymour" any day now,

The scary thing is... I can't really leave them outside 'till June.

It's gonna be a jungle in here.

It is hard to be a farmer in snow country. ;-)

How are things growing for you?

Olympic Progress

I am so shocked at how long it has been since my last post. I am blaming it on NBC. I love watching the Olympics and I try not to miss much but I am extremely frustrated with NBC's coverage. I feel like I am being teased endlessly. I just want to see the whole event without interruption. I have started pushing the mute button when the commercials come on, which is like every 3 minutes!Ugh!
I can't stay up that late, I am an in bed by 10 and up at 6 kinda girl.

OK... now that I have purged a bit of frustration I can say that I have been busy with many projects I have made a new apron using a pattern from one of my favorite designers, Heather Bailey. It is her Daily Spice pattern and it went together so quick and easy I plan to make a few more.
This isn't your average apron... this one has style. I adore the waistband.
I just need to make some fabric choices. That is the hard part.
Remember all those Pink Granny Squares I made awhile back? They have become this pretty little crib blanket. Almost done.
I made these Granny Squares while watching the Olympics. I used my new favorite color scheme. What's missing? hmmm...

Ah! Solid Granny's that is just what it needs.
Now I need to connect them and maybe I will add a border... I don't know. I have also started a 9- patch quilt using scrap fabric and I have two dolls in the works. Today I think I will sew as it is starting to snow again.
I wonder what Olympic event is on right now?
I just can't keep away!
Hope you are having a great day.

Cabin of the Dolls

It is snowing here again and I have been working on one of my favorite new projects, Rag Dolls. My hubby thinks I shouldn't call them that...kind of low brow I guess. What do you think? They really aren't literally made of rags but I don't know what else to call them other than their given names...which I give them!

Such as...
Bernadette... a fearless free spirit who has become Pasquali Rumpus's Mascot. Bernadette is prototype #4 and she is staying with me.

I am still working on her original gown.
This is Josie. She is an outdoorsy kinda girl.

Here she is awaiting her final sutures and flowing locks.
She is cute even without hair... gotta Sinead O'Connor thing goin'
I always thought Sinead was gorgeous.

There she goes...weave is in place.I wonder what she wants to wear?

Meet Tavia... I believe she may be a Scottish lass.

Smooch! ;0)

Pillow Progress

Today the sun is shining, the sky is clear blue and I have had a very productive morning. Basically it is a good day. I have gone through all of my U.F.O.'s (un finished objects) and decided which ones to concentrate on and my "stash spots" have been organized. Everything is in its place, I even vacuumed. :-)
I have completed a couple U.F.O's this week and they are now for sale at my shop.

The Valentine Pillow...
women in love...

the back. Sigh.
The "Pom-Pom Pillow"... I don't know what to call this one. I know I love it though, it is hard not to just throw it on my bed.

The flower has been hand embroidered and the pink velvet ribbon is vintage.
Here is a shot of the back. That Chartreuse and pink fabric is amazing...a little bit "Seussy".
now it's time to go mess up my house! ;-)
