Lily House #6

The new refrigerator has arrived! It is a GE 1920's Monitor Top refrigerator. As you can see it fits perfectly in the short nook by the backdoor. The next big project for Lily House is the wall treatment. The plan is for there to be wallpaper and beadboard. The inspiration came from the two kitchens in the photos below.

This kitchen is a new kitchen. The talented person who put this condo together is all out genius, every single nook and cranny is "period perfect". Anyway, notice the color of the paint used on the beadboard. I am not sure if it is aqua or seafoam but I love it and so Lily House will get bead board like this. The door you see goes nowhere it is just on the wall, trimmed out and everything with a dainty pink print curtain behind the glass. Brilliant I say. Oh and those lamps! Love. I wonder if they were inspired by this little kitchen below. It is in an old house in the ghost town of Bodie, CA. I took this photo a couple years ago because I love the beadboard and wallpaper combo.
The color is very similar and the wallpaper is a dainty pink print. Hmm...

Constant Crafter

The constant crafter. That is what I should have named my blog. My interests are so diverse that I have a hard time focusing on one project at a time. Then there are the books I want to read. Life is too short and time moves too fast. I wish I could read and crochet at the same time, wouldn't that be great? I am determined to finish "Anna Karenina" before I see the new Keira Knightley movie so I may have to put the hooks down for a spell and pick up that hefty novel. In the meantime these round little beauties are quickly becoming...

these square little beauties. When I complete all of them I will have enough to make four afghans. Yee Haw!

I have completed this massive striped Christmas afghan for my shop. It is queen sized and super heavy.
I have also finished my first button painting! I adore it and I am already working on another one.
 So much fun.
What have you all been working on?

Lily House #5

Over the Holidays Willow made quite a few changes to Lily house. All of them very positive changes, Gatsby thinks. The living and dining areas have been painted white for now. They may stay that way or wallpaper might be in order. She moved the painting from the kitchen to the dining room but it will be moved to another wall once she finds the perfect bookcase or console for that spot.
The bedroom has been painted lavender...actually it might be more of a lilac and a color decision has to be made about the window trim. Willow has a new patchwork sheet and a matching pillow. She needs to find the perfect painting to hang above the bed.
The library has a new bookcase.
The cabinet that was in the bathroom is now in the kitchen above the sink and a refrigerator has been ordered.
Willow also treated herself to a couple Christmas goodies.
A super cute Elf mug...

and a Christmas pudding. Yum

Beatrix Potter Christmas

Check out the date on this piece of fabric....

yep... 1985. A fine year. This fabulous panel of Beatrix Potter critters came to me from my Mother a few years ago after many long years sitting in her stash. I decided this year was its time to shine. I mean it has been waiting nearly 30 years. There is a history with me, my Mom and Beatrix Potter. I'll have to write about it someday.
The panel was originally meant to become Christmas ornaments but I have way too many ornaments as it is
and so a cozy country Christmasy quilt it will be. I am saving the "Noel" squares for another project already in the works. My super stash supplied the miss matched yule tide fabric strips. This has turned out to be one of those projects that is just meant to be...no hang ups...no new money spent...no money spent by me!
Some of the best Potter creations are included. Such as Squirrel Nutkin.
Tom Kitten
Two Bad Mice
Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail
Benjamin Bunny
Mrs. Tittlemouse

Jemima Puddle-Duck
and last but never least, Peter Rabbit
As you can see they all came out quite nice so next up is choose a sashing fabric... to be continued... ;0)

Christmas at our house

Today is the first day of the new year and I am full of fresh new ideas. That seems to be the way it works for me, New Year = New Inspirations. Before I post about the new quilt and afghan I have started...yep can't wait to show you, I want to get a few shots from our Happy Little Christmas. Our holidays were filled with friends, family, joy, food and lots of snow. Oh and crafts but I was too busy to blog. That seems to be the way it works for me as well. The more I create the less I want to spend time blogging about it.

Happy New Year!
