Curtain Circus

Well... I made some fresh new curtains for two of our living room windows using Heather Bailey's Cherry Hop Dot from her Nicey Jane collection (yum!) and some solid black. I used the black only because I didn't have enough of that sweet Cherry and I didn't want to spend any more money on this project and I knew that in the end the black would be hidden from view.
It took me a very long time to make up my mind on Michael Miller's Two by Two in black and white for the valance but once they were up...ahh...it felt just right. Well...almost just right. One thing was missing...

A bright punch of cherry red Riley Blake mini pom pom trim. Oh yeah!
Perfect.

Just what they needed. They kind of give the room a french bistro feel...like little awnings.

Now that they are finished and hard at work cheering up the room
I can't help but wonder if this book was the subconscious inspiration.
Fabulous book by the way, very mysterious and fun. I highly recommend it.

Lily House #4

Gatsby is a little worried about Willow's eating habits. Croissants and Candied Apples do not a good breakfast make.

                                                                       Or do they?

The new sofa doesn't fit in the living room so it will live in the attic/ guest room for now but the new upholstered chair fits perfectly. Gatsby thinks the sofa is super cute and comfy.
He has found the attic to be a fabulous spot to nap and get away from the endless Brando marathon.

Rumblin' Randsburg

Thanksgiving weekend we took a trip to see my parents in the desert. We left the gloomy weather and "flew" south.

After a fabulous day of feasting and football we decided to spend "Black Friday" in Randsburg, Ca. the living ghost town.
We arrived to find a bustling old mining town full of "moto" fans. The whole place rumbled from the motorcycles and quads. The streets were filled with happy families enjoying a very different kind of Black Friday.
Not exactly what we expected but fun just the same. Here is a little photo tour...

I was able to get many shots of rusted stuff and even better...painted, rusted stuff.

This funny little town has so much charm. I would like to go back when it isn't so populated.

This is the prettiest building in town
Merry Christmas and God Bless Us All.
